  • About This Forum

Welcome to the Australia Forum, which is one several international forums under development at Legal Beagles

The purpose of the international forums is to collect together information and links relating to consumer issues around the world that are related to our work. Australia is particularly relevant because of the work being done there to combat unfair penalty charges levied by banks.

There is also a strong link because one of the big five Australian Banks - Northern Australia Bank - actually owns Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank, and is therefore directly responsible for the questionable activities of those UK banks.

At Legal Beagles we believe that the issue of unfair (and usually unlawful) bank charges is a global one, and that there is strength to be gained from sharing information with friends around the world who are also fighting the same injustices, and often the same organisations.

Legal Beagles is pleased to share its experience with overseas members and guests, and will be grateful to receive more posts that provide links to useful information about the Australian scene.

Please note that Legal Beagles cannot offer advice on claiming or other procedures outside the UK, due to the obvious differences with legal and other systems.
