  • Chief Whip resigns

Andrew Mitchell has resigned, good riddance to another that thinks they are above everyone else in a 'we are in this together' situation.

Just showing their true colours, cheating, fibbing their way through life in the full belief they are better than the rest of us and can get away with it.
There will be more to follow am sure lol

The last thing you do when you're a politician, especially a Cabinet member, is to p*ss-off the police. Thatcher did that and she and her Cabinet almost found themselves without protection officers. Andrew Mitchell would have been better to have put his hands up and admitted to what happened straight away, not try and lie his way out of it. As for Boy George Osborne, I can just the conversation between him and the Train Manager -

GO: But I'm the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
TM: And I'm the Prime Minister. You're still paying the supplementary charge or you can get off at the next stop.

I have to agree with Enaid that there will be more incidents like this and Andrew Mitchell's and I would not be at all surprised to see one incident be the catalyst that forces a General Election. February next year seems possible.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

I'm as shocked as dogtired on this one.

The phrase "dead man walking" has been floating over him for weeks.
'I don't see why everyone depends on me. I'm not dependable. Even I don't
depend on me, and I'm me.'

BB, just had election cards through for an "independant police commissoner" No idea who the candidates are but as no one seems to bother to come and see us, even at the last election only saw the sitting MPs underlings, so why would I bother.
Used to be really passionate about being able to vote and my democratic rights but now it just seems to be about class, privalige and not about what really matters.
The problems is do we have a real alternative? (rant over!)
