  • Wheatley's Review on LIBOR

Just heard Martin Wheatley's review on the LIBOR scandal and wonder what people's view is on it?

I personally am very disappointed that it did not address the history of the misuse and consequences. Libor will still carry on, but just regulated better in layman terms. The history of the misuse is still being investigated by the SFO and no time scale has been set as to when the investigation will be complete.

Rather wishy washy I think personally ..........

    Re: Wheatley's Review on LIBOR

Hard to say, surely? If a bank sought to our offer a lower rate (Libor) in order to 'advertise' its strengths, then its mortgagors would've benefited directly from the lower rate - a rate of interest their mortgages (Libor + n) than they may otherwise have had to pay?
