  • What a sinister surprise? :(

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...y-2338168.html
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

    Re: What a sinister surprise?

"RBS said it had been assured by arms companies that they don't make cluster bombs. "We do not invest in cluster munitions. We have received assurances from our defence-sector clients that that they are not in breach of the Convention on Cluster Munitions," a spokesperson said.

They're really going to admit it aren't they?

I'd not believe a word uttered by the disingenuous ding-a-lings at RBS, even were they to say that Christmas was celebrated in December.

I'm sure Barclays are at the forefront of it. Afterall, they kept Apartheid going.

        This copied from Wiki today:

"In December 2008, the British anti-poverty charity War on Want released a report documenting the extent to which Barclays invest in, provide banking services for and make loans to arms companies.

"The charity writes in its report that Barclays is the world's largest arms investor, holding £7.3 billion in shares in the arms manufacturers.

"The report also details Barclays' dealings with known producers of cluster munitions and depleted uranium."

Its all about denial and lies hasn't any one noticed with what has gone on in this issue ....the RBS lies...Rupert Murdoch and the web of lies and decipt that is spreading every day to ....certain law firms.........that all these people are the so called pillars of our society .....the white collar I'm right Brigade.......the trouble is we are slowly realising that there is more than one brigade of them there are Dozens and dozens of these brigades .........in miltary terms a brigade is 10,000 troops.

There is a lot of these "white collar "brigades about.......they are the ones who help run our country economy and our lives

I'm afraid I'm not surprised either. Given the governments commitment to do away with these and the fact they (we) own a significant chunk of some of those banks, it is sadly just another reflection of the hypocrisy and corruption that is rife in our society.
