How or why is this of interest? What is the point of this link?

The choice of some of the links to stories in the press are positively bizarre

They are selected randomly by our press feed Michael.....its all out of our control!
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

That's the sort of excuse we expect from the banks!!

What's to stop those irrelevant threads being 'selectively' deleted

if you're that bothered, why not just "not read" the thread?

This site was founded upon bank charges but is also intended to be a 'destination' site where people spend a lot of time.
News feeds are there to provide general interest and add to the vibrancy and general interest of the site.

LOL...I didn't say this specific case would add to the vibrancy......just to have general news stories on the site.

                This case is just grim.
