Re: RBS Secrecy Veil; we know why!

The way in which the whole of the UK Banking debacle has been dealt with just reinforces the undeniable fact that Joe Public have absolutely no rights in this country.

Those that govern look after themselves and their buddies, those who are governed had better look out for themselves.

I think you'll find it's so much wind cos for political puposes, remember they both have banking backgrounds

If they really wanted to do something they would have by now They are the government for gawds sake

Whats the betting the bonus plans go ahead in one form or another

The problem is that if you say "we are stopping bonuses for performance" then how do you expect us the taxpayers as majority shareholders from ever making a profit. If you say, surely that is their job so why pay bonuses then you are deluded. Private companies want profit to provide added value to their share price which will rise as a result. Of course, if we simply want to continue to make a loss as a shareholder and with their current share price, we are, then keep at em for what happened under the previous administration. AFAIK, none of the RBS Group Board were there during the period in which they took money from the government. The CEO, Chairman and board members have all been replaced. By all means seek to have the report into why they had to do this made open but as a shareholder(by proxy, I guess) to make you money then NEVER EVER go into the stocks and shares market or have a pension scheme cos clearly you don't get how to play the game

not the ones at the coalface but I want to see those who caused ths bleeding disaster being punished whether it be by criminal or financial santion I don't care but make them suffer like the many who have or will lose their homes, their jobs, their businesses.

At the moment they are not only carrying on as before but are actually making it even harder for both business & consumers to borrow & are in fact arbitrarily withdrawing overdrafts placing poeple in the situation where they are worse off than they thought they would be Its a bleeding disgrace

Righty, that is what I am trying to say. Those that were the cause, who made the decisions at RBS Group are no longer on the board anymore. By all means, go after the old regime but the new ones are not the ones who are currently on the board of RBS Group.

I think a lot of lending policies were getting harder just before I left the group, ie lending for personal customers was that you had to have disposable income of £500.00 rather than £400.00 which is a big one for a loan.
However, there are changes happening with regards to Credit Card payments in 2011, ie that the largest interest accruer is paid before the least interest accruer which is different to how it currently is(LloydsTSB are also doing the same as of next year as well).
Lending is more stringent nowadays but considering how badly their lending practices have been, then I cannot say I wouldn't agree with what they are currently doing with regards to lending.
We cannot have it both ways.
