  • Liverpool F.C V's Hicks And Gillette

I was just wondering if anybody has any interest in todays court hearing and do you know anything, which way it will go, ins and out on the legal side, i.e the supposal form that Hicks signed saying broughton is the sole person that can change the board etc. Just wondering how much will stick.

    Cheers

i will be following it on skynews and being a pompey fan and having to endure watching my own club being pulled apart i do feel for liverpool fans and am one footy supporter that does understand

When we was in court we had a supporters trust offical in court relaying the events as they unfolded so maybe supporter websites is the place to look i also found bbc 606 forum useful too

My best to LFC and its Fanbase

Thats exactly my stance - Do we really want another GROUP of american owners that are going to finance the deal probably with loans et? or get a singled out Singapore millionaire who seems to like football and can finance the whole thing himself!! hmm I know which I would take, In a stupid way now, Personally I hope the court says Hicks can have the final say and then decideds to sell to the billionaire before the friday deadline NO LOANS means all monies coming through the gates OUR money will be going towards something a lot more worth while

One Minuite Im reading the Verdict will be today, the next Im getting Tweets from people that are there saying
"the judge has said it will be abitious to get it all sorted by this friday"
Not quite getting it as they have admited that they are in breach trying to sack and change the board - yet they want this to go on longer under what conditions. Oh dear I can't wait to read this sack of S**T excuse my profound language.

              Liverpool sale 'blocked by injunction'

A Texas court has granted a temporary restraining order stopping the sale of Liverpool Football Club, owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have claimed.
It comes hours after the American pair saw their challenge against the club's sale thrown out by the High Court.

Hicks and Gillett issued a statement as the Liverpool board met to ratify the sale to New England Sports Ventures.
The American duo described the proposed £300m sale as "an epic swindle" and are seeking more than £1bn in damages.
Hicks claims the injunction prevents Liverpool executing the sale of the club to NESV, with a hearing date of 25 October set.

The legal action in Texas - signed by Judge Jim ****** of the 160th District Court in Dallas - is "part of a lawsuit filed against Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow, Ian Ayre, NESV and Philip Nash" read a statement.
"The lawsuit also seeks temporary and permanent injunctions, and damages totalling approximately $1.6 billion (more than £1 billion)."

              More to follow.
