Our illustrious allies in the fight against terror or should that be causing terror perhaps

    http://www.collateralmurder.com/

Whether or not you agree with the war (& I don’t) isn’t relevant, this behaviour by so called civilised people is disgraceful & what’s even worse is their prolonged attempts to conceal it by lying to all & sundry

....and Reuters even asked the Americans under the Freedom of Information Act for the tape of the deaths. Until it was leaked they had refused to release it.

quite! now just who are the good guys supposed to be I wonder???

What strikes me is that even if insurgents the callous & gung ho attitude of the pilots killing people they know can't fight back Firing on people who are clearly trying to save the wounded & are NOT a threat to anyone least of all them the USA

PS my son is off to the States this year to study at uni for 1 year as part of his 4 year degree His mother is now suggesting she doesn't want him to go because of the American habit of settling disputes with guns

The clip is 17 minutes long as is taken from the lead helicopter. It shows them alleging a number of people are insurgents carrying guns and even one with an RPG(rocket propelled grenade). They ask for permission to shoot and do so. One man is show injured and a van arrives with 2 children on board apparently picking up one of the injured Reuters people, the other at this point is dead. The Americans again seek permission to shoot at the unarmed men picking up the wounded and are shot at and killed with the two children injured. The helicopters stay in the area while ground troops arrive and it shows american tanks driving over one body and when troops on the ground are asking for help to get the two injured children back to their own medics, they are told they should leave them for the Iraqi police. The implication at the end being that the children would have got inadequate care considering the injuries caused by american helicopter gunships.

It is in black and white as well, but the fascinating bit is more to do with what the helicopter pilots said than what they did albeit they are intrinsically linked.

It's also worth mentioning the RPG's the pilots claim to see are in fact the Reuters Reporters shoulder held cameras both of whom were also killed

You should study what is being done in your name

                  Re: Watch & Weep

I know what is being done, but it doesn't mean I want to watch it. That is why I asked about the content so I could make an informed choice.

I made my choice and I don't want to watch it.

What does that mean Its OK to kill unarmed civilians & not ok to be shocked "cos it's a war zone & we aren't there" what utter tripe ! These persons presented no threat whatsoever & to shoot those trying to help the wounded is despicable. Unless your not aware such behaviour amounts to a war crime

& I assume you condone the gung ho attitude of the pilots whilst the killed them

Also just for your benefit I have been under fire in an urban war zone so I know that mistakes can happen But its' perfectly clear from the gun cameras that these people had no weapons ........... There was no attempt on their part to hide & their demeanor was normal..........The yanks just wanted to have a shoot 'em up just like in the arcade

Insurgents do not wear uniforms, they do not wear badges or display rank so how do you know they were civilian? How does anyone know?

The rules of engagement are a matter for Governments, not frontline soldiers or airmen and on this occasion, permission was sought and granted. Clearly somebody made that decision.

You have no idea what I condone and only fools assume.
