And 100,000 Barclays current accounts have shut since the start of this year, trimming the total to 11.4million. "It is no secret that we have tightened our criteria about who we lend to," said a Barclays spokesman.


Lol what they meant to say was, we have closed the the accounts of consumers who dared to reclaim their charges! So we dont have so many!

How much will they recoup from all the properties that are being repossesed, due to people not affording their mortgages?
Yet more irresponsible lending in my eyes, they should make this a criminal offence under some human rights laws.
