  • Brown will help those struggling to pay their mortgage

Brown stated in Parliament that he help the trying to pay their mortgage but unable to.

Note the caveat 'trying to pay'

Should we not assume that all are 'trying' to pay their mortgage. After all who takes out a mortgage with the intention of not paying it.

Doesn't make sense does it or does it as how's about the local jobsworth who will be able to determine who gets help & who doesn't.

Even as a former old labour supporter I bet you a pound to a penny that those area's with the highest number of labour supporters gets the most help

......or maybe those who are in trouble with the possibility of repossession(hang on, won't that be a lot of Northern Rock customers---I wonder who owns them? Does anyone know?)

On an extremley selfish note, I for one bloody well hope he does make it work and stops talking about it and actually starts implementing it.

I cant work out how to apply for it.

Make no mistake despite my cynicism I too hope it works it just the caveat he added to his statement which gives me cause for concern.

Who is going to decide if a home owner is 'trying' to pay their mortgage before offering help & will there be any appeal

The council where I live try to find ways to refuse help even to the most needy. They are noted for it even within the Court of Protection so another opportunity to stick people's noses in it won't be missed
