Soo on Sunday I attempted to withdraw £250 from an RBS cashpoint but the transaction wasn't completed as after I entered my PIN and the amount, the screen said ''Out of service''.
Needless to say my account was debited. On calling I was told that I needed to wait 48 hours before submitting a claim which I could only do on the phone. So today I called to do just that and was asked for ''digits one and three of your PIN please''. I said ''one and three?'' and he said ''No that's wrong so I have to block your account'' !!!! I couldn't make him understand that I didn't mean that the PIN digits were one and three but I was just asking him to confirm that it was digits one and three he wanted but he insisted that he had to accept the first numbers I said.
I haven't lost my temper that badly for as long as I can remember and summoned a supervisor. Half an hour later they credited my account with the £250. Sometimes raw anger can work.
