After all the pledges about curbing bonuses, Northern Rock staff are given Ł50m

Workers at the failed bank Northern Rock will scoop bonuses worth up to Ł50million over the next three years. The extraordinary bonanza could include more than Ł400,000 for the boss of the nationalised lender.
