Time limit for a Deed of Variation to a Will

Does any one know if there is a time limit for a Deed of Variation?
Does it start from the persons death or does the time limit start after a Court Judgment has been received from a Court case to revoke the Will.
I would appreciate any help please.

A variation must be executed within two years of the date of the death.

I have been asked to sign a Deed of Variation this week and my Dad died on 13th June 2019 but it also says do not sign the date on the form.
Also Probate has not been applied for yet.
Can I refuse to sign?

You can always refuse to sign anything. although there may then be repercussions.

Without knowing the full circumstances it is difficult to advise, but I would be suspicious of motives if I were asked to sign but not date a form concerning a time limited action
