  • Inheritance issue

    Hi,

So our family sadly lost a beloved family member. It was my grandad, mums dad. Once the inheritance was sorted my mum has since transferred me some money in order to pay off my student overdraft and get a car. It was sent by her to my bank account. She suffers with anger issues and tends to take her emotions out on others. She has fallen out with me over something silly and is demanding the money back. But I have used some to pay off my overdraft ect. Where do I stand?

Too late as you have spent it.

It was a Gift and to demand it back because you have fallen out is petty.

Legally little or nothing She can do.

      How sad for you both
She gifted you some money, so if it was not conditional that money, once transferred and accepted, is yours to keep.
