  • Witness Statement advice

Hello, I am preparing a Witness Statement and I would like to check that the source of knowledge statement and statement of truth look correct?

I have seen lots of versions of the source of knowledge statement so I thought I'd ask the forum for any comments. THANK YOU!

    - The facts set out in this statement are within my own knowledge, except where I indicate otherwise. Where they are not within my own knowledge, they are true to the best of my information and belief.

    - Statement of Truth
I believe that the facts stated in this witness statement are true. I understand that proceedings for contempt of court may be brought against anyone who makes, or causes to be made, a false statement in a document verified by a statement of truth without an honest belief in its truth.

That is fine. There are no particular 'magic words'. If you do say something that is not within your own direct first hand knowledge, at that point explain how you got that information and from whom or from what source.
