  • My rights as trustee

Hello. My mother recently passed. I am designated trustee. I reside in her home. My sister came into the house and took all of her pictures and mementos without my knowledge. She no longer answers my calls and will not speak to me. Is there any legal action I can take? Thank you in advance.

Have you obtained a Grant of Probate yet?

You could write to your sibling requesting an inventory of the items she has taken and an account of what she has done with them.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Are you an Executor? Who else is an Executor - your sister?
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
