  • Can anyone help with my query?

    Hi,

Sadly my mum passed away last month and its been a very hard time over the last few years.
I cared for my mum through covid when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia.
I've fallen out with my brother and sister a few years ago as I wasn't receiving any help from them and they just wanted to put her in home. "I felt like a prisoner"
I'm the youngest and my brother is the executor of the will as he's the oldest. Just so you are aware we don't communicate at all.
Even with funeral they kept me out of everything, this is what I'm dealing with.

My question is after probate is given and all cost are paid i.e. "care home, funeral etc" and he has the final estate balance.
I've read that beneficiaries are not required to approve or sign the estate accounts. Again if I asked to see my mums bank details and statements he will refuse.
The executor seems to have all the power.
Is it just the case ill get a text or email asking for my bank details and that's it? As I want to know he's doing his jobs properly and someone is making sure its the correct % each after all the costs.
I know I can go on the government website and find when probate will be granted but after that I feel I'm in limbo and have no rights to see anything.
Thank you for taking the time helping me. I really appreciate it.
