    Incidentally, I assume you had your brother's mobile number and email address and maybe other ways to communicate, WhatsApp etc. What happens if you try to contact him via those methods? Have they been disconnected, or blocked, or do messages appear to go through but he ignores them?

      He is the executor. I have a copy of the will which leaves me around 300k. I suspect he might be in Latvia or Belarus. I've reported to the police online and will wait to hear back.

        you won't get far if he's in Belarus. In theory, action against someone in Latvia is possible. How well the theory works in practice is another question.

            The likelihood is that guy will have been named as trustee and executor, the trust being to carry out the testator's wishes as executor.

            The more important thing is that he has defaulted.
