  • Discovered Will was altered

Hello I write to ask if anybody has any information about altering terms of a Will by changing the actual Will itself? is this fraud?
Also this was only realised by me recently and although i have been aware of the Solicitors acting with Powers not given by the Will I knew. Over 5 years have passed-I now have evidence the Solicitors sent the altered Will which did give them permission to effectively do what they wanted.
Am i still able to challenge them and report them so i can gain access to the evidence of payments they received as Trustees to their own Trust.?

Improperly altering the original document after it had been signed by the deceased would be a serious matter, and possibly fraud.

Can you be sure that the deceased didn't change the will you saw before they died? By making a new will or by adding a Codocil?

Have you got a copy of the official Will on which Probate was granted? If not go to the gov.uk Will site where you can download a pdf copy. It only costs about £1.,

Search probate records for documents and wills (England and Wales) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

hi thank you for responding to my post.
I do have the entire Probate Application which included the Will they had altered. I did not notice the changes until i read back through my file. The alterations were subtle and within the original text, however, significant enough to make it seem like a Trust was implemented by the Testator. The Will was at my Father’s house and i gave it to the solicitors.
there was not any letter of wishes or codicils with it. The changes were made by them, i had no reason to doubt that it was the Will i gave them. is it too late to do anything about it?
