Hello, my uncle passed away last year and I was left some money in his will. I received a letter from the executors of the will (solicitors) confirming that this amount was 20k this letter was signed by the solicitor. It has now come to distributing the estate and the solicitor is saying I will be getting 10k. I explained about the letter recieved 12 months ago with the amount and he stated this was an auto generated letter and the amount was supposed to be 10,000. Surely I have grounds to say that the amount should be 20,000 as per his letter from 12 months ago. The amount was never questioned until distribution of the money.
