  • Probate, house left and bills

    Hi everyone,
This is complicated as probate goes but can i as a simple question. Who is liable for the bills on a deceased estate when the house has been in probate and then left to one of the executors. Probate was granted months ago but the executor in question wasn't notified by the other executor. Now the bills on the house are very significant and person who the house has been left to has been told they are personally liable for all the bills. Thanks in advance.

The liability for bills falls on the estate, until the estate has been administered. At the point of the house being transferred to a beneficiary, the liability for (future) bills passes with it.

It would be for the person making this assertion to justify it.
