  • Update Will?

Since making my Will several years ago, my circumstances are unchanged - except that one of the witnesses has died.
Should I make a new Will?

    No need in that case.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

The deat of a witness does not affect the validity of the will.

Just for that one witness dying I agree no, but It really depends on what 'some time ago' means. If it has been several years ago, have you given attention to what changes may have occurred regarding property values in relation to Inheritance Tax?

As long as you are satisfied that you have taken care of everything that you can, then Wills can continue unchanged for many years. If Executors die, or perhaps become too frail to administer the Will in the best way possible, then it would be a different matter.
