  • Problems with Mum's Will

Does anyone know if illegitimate grandchildren can claim on a decease'd estate!?

My mum died in 2019, whilst me and my brother are main beneficiaries, if anything happened to either of us the will stipulated the remainder of the will would be split amongst the grandchildren.

However the concern I have is that my brother's grandchildren are all illegitimate, as is my late sister's grandchildren. can they inherit or can I put a block on that!?

The Inheritance (provision for family and dependants) Act 1975 would possibly give them the right to make a claim, and you could not block it although you may be able to dispute any claim
