  • Stopped from having relationship after death

I have started seeing someone who is living with her deceased husband's brother. They are not in a relationship, I know that as a fact. But she has told me she is forbidden to enter another relationship otherwise she will lose her share of her dead husband's property etc....... And her dead husband's borther monitors this.....

Could this even be true??? Could this cause be put in there and would it be legal??

If there are children of the marriage, it could well be that there are clauses within the will setting up trusts to protect the assets for the children.

The controlling brother in law may be misinterpreting the will.

If a grant of probate was obtained to settle the estate you could obtain a copy of the will here ( https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate) and check the position in that regard yourself
