  • can anyone advise on joint wills please

Hi me and my x made a joint will at the solicitors how will I know if it is a mirror will? I am waiting to get a copy of the will from the solicitor he died in 2016.

By a joint will, I presume that you and your ex made similar provisions, eg, that you’d give all of your estate to each other on the first death, and then when the second of you died, everything would go to your children if any? If that sounds familiar, those are mirror wills. You say “ex”. If your decree absolute was made before he died, then any gift to each other would automatically be revoked on decree absolute. Would you like to post a bit more background and I can advise further.

Beware. So why would a Central African Republic domain be useful to the UK
