  • uncovered property

    Hi,

I am a newbie and cant find anything similar so here goes.

Mother died 8 years ago, her 2nd husband has just passed away (first husband is also deceased) and it has been uncovered that there are properties still under my mothers name. All are in her sole name.

There are 3 children from each marriage, none of us knew of the existence of these properties until the recent death of her 2nd husband.

What is the legal position for these properties.

    Which country? England/Wales/Scotland?
Did your mother leave a will or did she die intestate?
Was a grant of probate/letters of administration granted?
What was the value of these properties/ (IHT problems?)
Did her first husband predecease her?
    Who inherited her estate?
