Please help! I’m really at my wits end. I’m the sole executor of my late Dad’s Will. I was also his POA for a short time before he died. My father and I were very close and had a wonderful relationship. It’s a very simple estate without any land, shares, property or debts. My brother, sister and I are the main beneficiaries and all money*is to be divided equally. However, one of the beneficiaries is making my life a misery. The other beneficiary is absolutely fine and supportive. My sibling is constantly making accusations about how I’ve mishandled my Executor and POA duties and has somehow gained access to our Dad’s Bank Statements from the period before his death and is now querying everything I did for our Dad while he was alive (but very ill).*They keep contacting me and threatening me with the police. I took some action and reported this behaviour to the police who have suggested I keep a record of events.*I wonder if anyone here knows if beneficiaries are able to request information like this from the Bank? I thought only Executors could do that, but perhaps not? There is a long backstory of sibling rivalry, mistrust and unkindness which makes this all very hard. We’re in Scotland, the estate is almost finalised (the majority of the legacies have been paid out) and I have provided an interim statement of the estate accounts to the other beneficiary via a solicitor as direct communication is too distressing.
