  • Protecting Home to avoid it being sold to pay for care home fees

This is probably a question which has been asked before but there is never a clear answer - Basically, all I want to know is, is it possible to have drawn up legally, a document whereby in the future there won't be a possibility of me having to sell my home to pay for care home fees? I would like my only daughter and grandsons to inherit my house once I've passed away.

    Hi Carina62,
it is a difficult one I’m afraid. This thread may help:- https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...e-vs-care-fees
    and this one:- https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...otection-trust
Hopefully they shed some light for you. The links are quite helpful in the 2nd thread too.
I am a qualified solicitor and am happy to try and assist informally, where needed.

Any posts I make on LegalBeagles are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as legal advice. Any practical advice I give is without liability. I do not represent people on the forum.

If in doubt you should always seek professional face to face legal advice.

Thank you very much, this has been a very useful and interesting read, I did not know this so it has helped answer my question.
