We have had a contested will and sold a family property. The money needs to be distruted but the beneficiciary who contested the will is not prepared to sign accounts. His share has been used up by court cases anyway. We are stuck as the co executor to me is a solicitor and cannot risk distriuting without all signatures. The money was due to be released in April 2017

Sorry to hear the issues you're having. Just to be clear someone contested the Will, you say that the costs have been taken out of their share? Does that mean they lost their claim? Did the Court order they pay the costs of the estate? Has the claim been ongoing since 2017 when you indicate the sum should have been paid to the beneficiaries? Is the person who contested the Will a residuary beneficiary?
The obtaining of the signatures are I assume relating to signing off the accounts or are the signatures to confirm receipt the amount due to the beneficiary?
Sorry more queries at this moment but hopefully we can point you in the right direction once we have your response.
