My Vodafone direct debit was due out on 2nd Aug, unfortunately having a blonde moment a few days before when clearing some old direct debits off my internet banking, I inadvertantly cancelled the Vodafone dd. Yesterday (1 week after payment was due) I have had restrictions placed on the phone .. no outgoing calls / texts etc. I have had no correspondence from Vodafone asking where their payment is, or even letting me know that it is overdue. I only realised what I had done yesterday when my phone wouldn't work! I think restricting calls etc after only a week is a tad excessive - even O2 waited almost 2 months before restrictions a few years ago when I got into problems with one of their bills and they did contact me to warn me that they MIGHT place restrictions if I didn't pay. Is it normal practise for Vodafone to be this quick off the mark with restrictions?

Re: Vodafone - 1 week late payment & restrictions placed on phone
Hi Kitiara,
Thanks for making me aware of this.
Although we do reserve the right to restrict a customer's service when payment becomes overdue we do usually try to make contact with the customer via text message beforehand.
In regard to the cancellation of your Direct Debit we would've also sent you a letter advising you that we'd received notification that you'd cancelled it and inviting you to make contact with us.
Should you need any further help could you email me with your details via the Contact us form here and quote the code WRT135 - FAO Lee in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. To make sure it reaches me could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee
