    Re: MAC Code

its the norm depending on the company

some places have to email a different dept to raise the MAC code, and they email you, so depending on their backlog is how long it takes

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. but normally its a lot quicker in practise, they have to give you worst case scenario!

        Re: MAC Code

ive known MAC codes be produced in 5 hours, but if the company is having issues and lots of people want to leave, it can take longer, the normal speil is "Your MAC code is being produced and will be sent to you, this can take UP TO 5 days"

they have to let you know it as the worst case, its like a PAC code, within 48 hours, arrives 20 min later!!

give it 48 hours and ring them and ask can they tell you it sometimes works

            Re: MAC Code

Just received the following from Orange after requesting my MAC

            Hi ,

We are currently unable to generate a MAC code (Migration Authorisation
Code) as our systems are showing that your broadband line has been
ceased, or has a cease in progress.

In order to resolve this please can you give us a call on 0844 873 8586*
or, if you're on one of our pay monthly plans, dial 150 from your
mobile. We're here from 7am to 11pm, every day of the week.

            * Calls from our home phone lines are free. Calls from a BT landline
cost 5.1p a minute. Calls from mobiles and other networks may vary.
Calls may be monitored and recorded for training purposes.

            Best Regards

              Re: MAC Code

I replied to the above email with the following

Thank you for your email. I am currently seeking advice about a possible breach of contract and will contact you again.

              http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/codes-...tions-process/

I find it appalling that you can treat your loyal customers in this manner. I will NOT be renewing my current contracts with your company
I also intend writing a letter of complaint regarding this matter.

              All correspondence will be collated.

Now after 2 weeks absence my broadband has reappeared as if by magic
