  • Credit where credit is due

After trying to cope with purely mobile phones and broadband for about three months, we are returning to a landline. We have not missed the phone, but the broadband speed and bandwidth is simply insufficient for full time use.

After a few mishaps by BT, culminating in my waiting in all day today for them to deliver a router which never appeared, I just sent a somewhat tongue in cheek e-mail to the CEO, Ian Livingston himself.

Much to my surprise, I received a reply within about three minutes from no less than Ian Livingston himself. I'd offered him the opportunity to talk to me about what is wrong with his company tomorrow and he claims he is going to. I relish the chance, and if he does call, one has to give him credit, especially given the semi tongue in cheek nature of my mail to him.

You could ask him why he employs a bunch of bullies and liars in his Executive Level Complaints Team - I've had experience of these scrotes.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

      When he rings, say :
To speak to Labman please press 1.
To speak to another member of the family press 2,
If the call is of a personal nature please press 3,
You may press hash at anytime to be put though to an operator,
Then put him on hold for twently minutes and play him some nice Gustav Holst.
At whitch point you say, your call is important to us, then more Holst
      Then hang up.

PMSL! Funny you should say that. I did point out that I have three degrees, two at Masters Level and several post graduate qualifications, yet twice gave up trying to get through to a real person.

Surely that must tell them something - probably people with degrees can't follow simple instructions! lol

When he contacts you, tell him you left due to you feeling "Undervalued as a customer" and that your "loyalty was not rewarded to my satisfaction"

2 phrases that will chill the heart of any top notch telecom boss.

It's actually a very valuable opportunity and I'm jotting down things I want to cover. I imagine his time is exceedingly precious, so doubt it will be a long chat. I want to put across as much as I can, in whatever time he gives me to explain what it's like being on the receiving end of a personless, souless organisation run by overpaid twats dreaming up ridiculous ideas rather than concentrating on doing what all consumers want - phone lines that work, broadband that works and outstanding customer service, something probably best achieved by employing someone whose highest achievement is somewhat more than graduating from a nappy. As the saying goes, if you pay peanuts......

the way to hit it home is complain about the "Dehumanising (spelling?) of your loyal customer base" thats telcoms speak for TAKE ME OFF HOLD!! Explain that his "Loyal customers" (lay it on thick with the loyalty bit, BT are doing their utmost to beat o2 in rewarding loyalty) are finding the holding system "non user friendly".
