  • Orange Email Account

I have had an email account orginally with Freeserve which was then taken over by Wanado and then by Orange. The way the account was initally established I didn't have to dial up to access. That is the main problem for Orange becuase it wasn't a dial up account they did not make any money. Every 90 or so days they would deactivate the account I would have to call technical support and they would reset the account. 2nd of Jun the account was unavaiable due to a technical problem and I was told it would be back with in 24hrs. Sunday the 5th of Jun I was told by technical support that the account had been deleted and could not be recovered. I spoke with customer service on the 5th and was told by Nicki that it could be reinstated and she would submit a request and my account would be back in 48hrs. Today is the 7th of June and I am now told by customer support that the account is deleted and can not be recovered. I have lost a large number of files/email addresses and the ability to contact people. This will effect my financial life as well as my personnel life Is there any recourse?

Email their CEO and explain the chronological story of what happened. Explain that you have been told first they can't restore the account, then they can restore the account and then they cannot restore the account. State that you have lost important emails that you need.

If they do restore it then please take a paper based record of your contacts and printout or copy and past the important emails into a word/openoffice file and open up a free email account in case there is an issue in the future since clearly the system you have with no back up of email and contacts is not the best, imho.

Email CEO should give you a final response and hopefully an explanation as to why this keeps happening. Give us a shout when they've resolved it

I have contacted Oranges customer service via telephone and asked for the email address of the CEO. They have stated that they can not release requested address. Do you have any way of obtaiing said address?

if you click onto the email name on my second post then you should be able to send an email. Please help us and don't deal with idiots on the phone cos they can tell you that it rains in the desert and then deny they said it

Just dealing with these idiots myself. However, I recorded the calls I had with their ‘customer service’ reps, so if they come back and deny what they said, I’ll be straight to the Chief Exec’s office with transcripts. In the meantime, they’ve already had my £300 for five months and obviously don’t want to give it back...
