Hi, its Buzz from OTR at carcreditcomplaints

Wondering if anyone has any advice about TalkTalk please.

Was with Sky until February for phone and broadband, but was too unreliable.
Looked around and saw that TT had a good deal, so cancelled Sky (just kept telly)

Anyway, within the first week on TT, the broadband was terrible and had to call them about 15 times. One of these times, I asked to be put through to cancellations. There is a 30 day make your mind up period.
I explained why and the customer service said if I stayed, she would not charge anything for the first month due to the inconvenience, so I said OK, as long as the service was going to be reliable.

Today, I received the bill and there are no deductions. I called them and they say they have no record of the offer I was given.
I accused them of taking me over the 30 days cancellation period under false pretences and after an exchange of words, I was told they would now give me 2 months free.
Only after I thought about it. What if next month they don't honour the free period.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get out of this contract with them now I am about a week past the 30 days cooling off period?

    Cheers,
    Buzz

    Re: TalkTalk

Hi Buz, good to see you around.

Make a log of the approx time/date of your calls. If you got a name etc log that too. There should be a record of your call somewhere, they are just trained to ignore them and keep your custom at all costs.

Direct your complaint directly to the MD Charles Dunstone.

Cancel the direct debit and write to him explaining why. If they start to chase you after this then you should have a good case to defend.

TalkTalk are just that, all Talk and no decent service. Will just get you a link to highlight some of the problems experienced by other customers.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

      Re: TalkTalk

      Hi,
      Thanks for that.
I cant believe I fell for their false promises. Usually I am on the ball.

To make matters worse, I got my Sky bill today. On it they are still charging for the phone and broadband in advance till end of May even though I finished with them at end of Feb.
I called them and they insisted I am still with them.

The last Sky bill in March included advance rental, etc., and they said to pay that as it was already in the sysytem and this bill it would be refunded. Instead they have carried on charging me.
They have promised they will look into it as it must be a "computer error!!!" - yeah.. right

      What a bl**dy nightmare
