  • CCJ in error

My wife found out she had a CCJ from Welsh Water which they admit was done in error. This was issued in 2022 and she was not aware of it as it referred to a property that we had sold in 2013. Due to this she has been refused two bank loans. She only became aware last week when a bank employee informed her of the judgement. Welsh Water have offered her £200 in compensation which I believe is a paltry sum for the problems caused, distress and damage to her reputation. I would be pleased to receive guidance regarding the sum she should expect.

Ask them to arrange for the ccj to be set aside and to clean up the credit record.

First things first. By all means ask, but isn't getting the record cleared up an important first step?

Atticus is correct. Once it's resolved, follow Welsh Waters Complaints procedure on their website.
In the meantime gather evidence, screenshots of credit report, rejections for credit etc.
