  • Illegal electric disconnection

on the 8th April I returned to my flat to find I could not get in ,I later found out from a neighbor that my locks had been changed, and letter left in window which wouldn't have seen, It stated that SSE had gained access on behalf of EDF and I had to contact the locksmith on mobile no. It was about 9.30pm . I had to walk to my sons house to use phone , I first rang SSE who said it was nothing to do with them and to call locksmith ,I called him but phone was off,I left several messages asking about keys and that I had medications in flat . I didn't get a reply and had to stay out all night,I still didn't get a call back in morning so at around 9am after calling mobile no.he answered and told me he won't be back in Leeds till 4pm ,no show again told me 6pm ,and again didn't turn up ,eventually 8.30pm I got keys ,After I got in flat I found my meter had been removed and main fuse , There was a notice stating that fuse only removed and a safety advice notice stating ,consumer unit shows signs of damage , I contacted edf who denied that they got warrant and I didn't have account with them ,After calling them numerous times , They finally said they would replace meter qonly if I had electrical engineer do a full safety report ,I arranged it with Leeds council for 26th April , They then told me that it had to be in front of them to carry out work, safety reported no issues with electrics only that I needed smoke detector replacing ,I finally got new meter fitted by morrisons contractors who fitted identical pre payment meter I already had before, I was without any source of heating, lighting, hot water,as flat is all electric , Morrisons contractor said they had the contract with edf to execute warrants etc. Not SSE and found no faults and that I should take up legal advice ,I need to add that I did not receive notification of warrant nor any bills as I had prepayment meter ,where should I start

You need to make a formal c.omplaint to the electricity supplier and send them a SAR so you can see what documents they have issued. Eventually you may need to complain to OFGEN.
