’ve received a pcn from qdr solicitors who are asking for £182 on behalf of zzps. The charge is from almost 3 years ago and at the time I wasn’t the driver. So far I’ve made no correspondence with them. From reading similar cases the best advice seems to be ignore or send them a letter with a template etc.. they have threatened to pass this case on to their Scottish legal partner.. the letters addressed to my wife and she wants to pay the fine even though neither of us was driving at the time.. are we best to pay or is there a better course of action?

So are you in Scotland? If so then POFA liability does not apply. And ZZPS as mere debt collectors cannot initiate a case. Carefully check the letter to see who they are asking to pay in the letter. Could be another borrowed letter head.
Can your wife show that she was not driving at the time? Time sheet from work, airline tickets?
