....court papers for an old loan. I'd like to contest it but it would worry the OH too much and it's simply not worth it so I am considering admitting claim and asking for time to pay. Have until XX March to respond. Any advice?

Can you tell me more about the details of this? The amount sued for and the name of the party suing you etc/ the court?

It's an old Cabot loan, enforceable.

The problem I have now is that a Decree has been made in my absence from court. I was under the impression that cases like mine were on hold. The case was due to be held on 9 June (IIRC) and now I have received a letter from Registry Trust informing me of the Decree being added to their register.

I had assistance from CAB, whom I have just spoken with, and they too are surprised at what's happened.

So did you assume nothing would happen and didn't respond? I will send you a private message about this.*

No. Under Simple Procedure I admitted the debt. I heard nothing from my CAB contact who was representing me so presumed courts not sitting.

          Will continue via PM.
