Personally I find malware bites a far superior product than spybot

Personal choice I know but her is the link if its useful

          Re: Very slow internet

Today I have been having some issues with the connections, and even logging in to some sites as well, sometimes it allows me, other times it doesnt, or the page will not load at all, and may time out.

            Re: Very slow internet

CCleaner is not actually a malware cleaner, it removes temporary and other redundant files. It is excellent and I use it daily.

The program Malwarebytes is an excellent malware removal tool. Spybot is now generally regarded as bloated and less effective.

Malwarebytes can be downloaded from here > Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com

Did you reboot your router BTW???
They were out to get me!! But now it's too late!!

                  Re: Very slow internet

Also if you are playing Farmville, or any of the flash based games, they are ALL very slow to load.
The only real way to get round this is shear power.
So a large CPU and tons of RAM is a must.

                    Re: Very slow internet

I'll have to look into upgrading methinks as the OH gets really p*ssed off and screams at the pc blaming the internet. even when i've told her it her bloody pc n NOT t'interweb thingy lol.
Internet doesn't help but its not the major cause of the flash games 'hanging'.

                      Re: Very slow internet

Also AOL are owned by Talk Talk, if you get slowdowns at peak times & everything runs fine late at night then its an over contended network that's to blame. Do speed tests at 6pm & 11pm to see if there's a difference.

You need to move to North Wales

                        Re: Very slow internet

                        Sorry just catching up now.

Yes mine is AOL, I did not know they were related to Talk Talk.

Funny enough my server went down about 5 pm, I restarted the puter after about 10 mins or so and it was fine again and even speedier.

Will start retesting at the time you said, cheers for that suggestion.

                        Upload - 0.35mb/s
                        Ping - 169.ms
