  • Windows 7 for £30

... but only if you are a student.

Microsoft are offering Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional to all UK students with an .ac.uk email address from 1st October until January 2010.

It's a genuine offer and pre-orders are taken from 1st October 2009, with Windows 7 shipping on 22nd October 2009.

So if any of you have kids who are currently studying at University and want to upgrade from either XP or Vista, then here's the link to do it (including the T&C's).

Bearing in mind that upgrade versions to 'normal' members of society will retail at prices starting at £69 then it's quite a saving to cash-strapped students (meaning they will have more money to spend on more important things like booze, fags and 'other things they should not be spending it on' :tinysmile_grin_t: )

Saw this on CAG. It was advised that although this is being marketed as an upgrade version in Europe, it is in fact the full package and that files and e-mails should be backed up before installing.

It's always a good idea to back up everything before you do an upgrade anyway. I've seen far too many 'simple' upgrades cause havoc !!
