Vehicle scam victim. Anyway to retrieve money?

Hi all, last week we became the seemingly latest victims of a vehicle scam on Ebay. £2500 for a VW Horsebox. I was wondering if there is any hope on the bank trying to recover the money. Has anyone else had any joy going down this route?

I can't help with this awful situation, but its very strange that reported crime is apparently going down, it doesn't look that way.
