Hi I live in the uk,I have been dealing with various health issues for a number of years due to slipped discs and sciatica etc I was prescribed diazepam and Tramadol after been on the diazepam for around a year and a half my doctor took me off it but I was kept on the tramadol,became of a friendship between me and one of the workers at the pharmacy where I picked up my medication she started selling me boxes of diazepam and Tramadol this has carried on untill a few days ago,I know it’s my fault but the is ended up with me been on 16 50mg Tramadol daily 20mg diazepam daily
sometimes the pharmacist would give me the medication and tell me to pay her on pay day and would then constantly hound me for the money if I couldn’t afford to pay,over time I developed a bad addiction to tramadol so my doctor decided to put me on methadone when the doctor asked how I was acquiring so much tramadol I told them I was buying it online ,when I started taking my script to the pharmacist she would often give me top ups etc this carried on for a few months untill she gave me a full 500ml bottle of methadone saying I could have it as it would get chucked away I stupidly took it and started playing around with my dose after I had finished the bottle I was taking around 40ml a day instead of the 15ml day I was been prescribed I told the pharmacist I was having withdrawals and she would give me top ups here and there,during this time I was still buying Tramadol and diazepam of her and she would still hound me for money almost daily in the end I ended up telling my drug worker as it had all had had a profound effect on my mental health resulting in self harm, I had a worser addiction and I felt intimidated every time I went in the pharmacy I know it’s my fault I shouldn’t of asked her for extra medication etc but she also should not of gave it to me I have thought about taking her to court I suffer with mental health issues and all this has definitely made it worse,my drug worker has told me she has a duty to report the pharmacy worker she also said I might be able to make a claim against the pharmacy,could anyone advice if I have grounds to?thankyou very much
