  • Personal injury trust. Where to start?

Some time in the near future my sons mother is expecting a personal injury payout. I estimate the amount to be 25-30k. As she is in receipt of a means tested benefit she is advised to put some of this in a personal injury trust. Can this be arranged without the expense of a solicitor? Any step by step guides?

Are you aware of this factsheet, from Headway? https://www.headway.org.uk/media/278...-factsheet.pdf

There appears to be a good deal of information to be found by an internet search for "personal injury trust uk".
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read this: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Thank you. I was mostly overwhelmed with google searches directing me to legal firms offering their services to set up a trust fund. As the anticipated award isnt huge the 1.5 to 2k + vat price tag seemed high.
      Thanks again
