  • Vt help needed please

Hi, firstly i'm new here, an awesome Forum full of useful information,

I sent my VT on 17th Feb to PCF by Recorded Delivery copied from here,

For some bizzare reason it never arrived there until 23rd Feb,

They never called to confirm receipt but did call on 5th and 6th of March to check i had received there letter, it asked for copies of service history, log book and confirmation there are 2 keys, during the call i was asked if i would like to sell the car and then settle agreement, i declined that offer, i returned these requested copies on the 9th of Mar (unsigned), it arrived 10th Mar i heard nothing until 16th Mar when Mannheim Vehicle Inspections called for an appraiser to come to my home and inspect car, the earliest they could do was 23rd Mar, the 2 appraisers arrived and inspected car (1hour 10mins) he knocked door with report, only needed a smart repair (£60), again no signature as i was not present (hubby who is a motor engineer) was present and is not his place to sign, on return from work i called PCF to find out when car will be collected (i now refuse to deliver anywhere as its now been inspected) they told me i must deliver, i am responsible for car and that he would call back yesterday, this now 25th Mar, i have not used there car since 17th Feb when VT was sent, i now have another car but cant insure/use as i'm having to keep there car insured as per contract, i'm using buses, i have there report, Mannheim advised against using or leaving on street, car is on street as uninsured new car cant sit on road, i still paid them on 1st Mar, they tell me i must pay 1st April as i have car, is there anything i can do/say to speed this up?

I have no arrears, never missed a payment car is simply to expensive,

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks Jules

As you have VT'ed it then the car is theirs and their responsibility to insure. I would protect myself by send the V5 back to DVLA naming them as the owner but others would advise about the wisdom. You should write telling them that the car is no longer your responsibility, as the contract has ended you are no longer responsible for the insurance and you will be charging them £50 per day for storage.

      Hi Again,

Ok, so i dropped into CAB office, guy there has never heard of a VT, he looked it up then said he would call PCF, i don't wish to be rude but they made him look rather silly, dictated to him that when they decide, they will contact me on where/when i've to drop car off for second, more thorough inspection, he came off phone telling me that is pretty much the way it is? Can they really do this? Must i keep insuring, taxing and paying for there car until they decide? Any help on this will be truly appreciated, my hubby much better than me at these things but they refuse to speak to him, i honestly thought this would be complete in a few weeks, its really getting me down now

Try not to let this get you down. I am sure one of the legal smarties will know what to do and hopefully one will be along soon and have a read.
