Might he have been somewhat impaired by drugs at the time of the collision?

He certainly looked and acted that way, as did his mouthy little girlfriend. Thought police should have done a breath test at any accident, however WPC just took a statement, and said looks as though TP was at fault for pulling out of a junction . After obtaining her statement through insurers ,she said just attended accident and nothing else. Asked his former neighbours if TP was around , no one seen him for a few months, and dont know where hes moved too.His mobile is dead. My sons insurers and TP insurers doing nothing between them. Maybe a call to MIB ,or fill in form as untraceable driver might be the answer. ??? any thoughts ??? Thank you

I have already advised that you should go to the MIB.....the sooner you start the sooner you might get some joy and get this mess sorted.

If you go to the link I provided you with it should advise you how to start a claim through them. I have never used them but just know they are their for that purpose.

Let me know how you get on please.

A breath test would only give evidence of too little blood in his alcohol system; it would not prove that he'd been sniffing white powders, injecting drugs or popping pills.

Asked his former neighbours if TP was around; no one seen him for a few months and don't know to where he's moved.
                  Might he be in gaol?

                  His mobile is dead.
It was probably a pay-as-you-go SIM which has long since been discarded. I understand this is not an uncommon practice by drug dealers.=

The OP or OP's son may wish to write to the Claims Manager at the OP's insurers and request a full account of what they have done so far. Some years ago, I had a case of a motor insurer dragging their heels. The innocent party was getting the runaround from their insurers who claimed they had written to the Third Party's insurer three times, but had received no response. When I contacted the Third Party's insurers, they said they had received no correspondence from the innocent party's insurers. Went back to the innocent party's insurers and asked them to explain themselves. Matters moved very rapidly after that.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
