I bought a pre reg car with delivery miles on the clock, on inspection the car was as you would expect bar a scratch on the passenger side of the dashboard which I was told would be repaired by an interior specialist to a high standard before collection. But after picking the car up on Saturday I have discovered that there is overspray all over the passenger side of the dash and some other trim parts. I feel at this moment I want to give the dealer a chance to resolve the issue, by chemically removing the overspray providing it doesn't further damage the interior or replace the dashboard parts which have been over sprayed. I am not prepared to let them paint over the top of the overspray and have a fully resprayed dashboard in a brand new car. Any ideas where I stand on this? Can I reject the car as this is not the sort of issue that a brand new car should have?

Re: Interior overspray in pre reg car.
There have been a few posts recently about rejecting cars if you use the search facility. I believe technically the dealer is allowed three chances to rectify the fault before you can reject it. If they replace the dashbord, make sure there are no rattles whatsoever on replacement as they are notoriously awkward to get back correctly.

Re: Interior overspray in pre reg car.
As I want a swift conclusion to this, I have decided it might be a good option to do a swap for the car in the showroom (same model) and pay the extra providing the dealer honours the price on the showroom car he quoted before and gives me full value that I paid for the car I have just now. I just feel that if they wont repair the current car as they should, I have then compromised. Thoughts?
