    Reminder - Clamping on Private land BANNED as of October 1st

    Basically chapter 2 of Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 comes into effect..

      as it is now an unlawful act to immobolise a vehicle on private land, i take it that includes blocking your exit >>

      can you also cut off a clamp without penalty also as it was an offence in the first place to attach a clamp to a vehicle

        They can still block your way, but that would be rather dumb..
        You cannot cut off a clamp, as that would be criminal damage. Two wrongs and all that..

        Either way time to call the police..

          Blocking your way would be very ill-advised, especially if they refused to let you go until you paid them money. Clampers have done that in the past and ended up in handcuffs and then in court charged with Blackmail. It may also be Unlawful Detention and Fraud by False Misrepresentation.
