Re: Voluntary Termination of HP - Log Book ownership

So is formally transferring ownership when they have car in
possesion or log book etc? All i have done at present is wrote to them
under section 99 100 and told them i want to make arrangements
to collect the car. Will now send them the letter back tomorrow with log book (which i am very
worried about as mother is registered keeper). Safe to
cancel direct debit since i have paid more than half and have no arrears? Or will
i wait till they respond to next letter?
    Thanks once again!

You will owe any installments due until the agreement is terminated, even if you have paid half of the amount due, but as long as you give them notice, usually 14 days it is up to them to provide reasonable means to facilitate the return of the vehicle. This is why you must inform them formally in writing and keep copies of all your correspondence.
The point is that it is you that is terminating the agreement not them, you say it is terminated in 14 days then it is terminated in 14 days simple as that.
