I would love some help on this one please.... I have bought a car 2 years old and 15,000 miles on it, still under manufactur waranty although not at the garage I bought it from. After having it 14 days and probably driven in about 6 times it began to have a knocking problem so I booked it in to be looked at and the next day there was a message on dash saying airbag failure and the airbag light came on. I managed to get it in at the garage on the 21st day of owning it and and they said it needed to have two drop links doing on the suspension which would be covered by waranty and done but to my horror the airbag light problem is major.... it has turned out that the a plug has been bypassed and in doing this the whole wiring loom needs replaced and the whole of the interior of my 21 day old car has needed to be removed, I am still not sure whether this is going to be fixed at the dealers cost! So as you can understand I dont want this car now... it has been sold to me with a major safety issue and now I am without the car as it is sat empty at a garage... can I persue the garage I bought it from and demand a refund?? Many thanks for your help with this one.

Re: persuing garage with sals of goods act?
If you were made aware of any faults when you bought it, you're on a sticky wicket. However, I would speak to your local Trading Standards Department at the earliest possible opportunity. Can you advise as to the vehicle's current MOT status and the date shown on the MOT certificate when the test was conducted, please? You may need to speak to the Vehicle Operator and Services Agency (VOSA) about the faults, as well as TS, especially as the vehicle is only two years from new. You do not expect the sort of faults you have described in a vehicle of that age.
Also, did you buy this vehicle from a dealer or privately?Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
