  • Voluntary termination when under court order.

    Good morning all,

I am looking for some advice please. Around 18 months ago I was made redundant which resulted in me falling two payments behind with Moneybarn, who were really difficult to work with at the time. I felt like they pushed me towards a court order rather than offering payment breaks etc. The resulting court order meant I could keep the car as long as I made the increased payments to cover the arrears. 18 months on I have kept up payments but the car I have is now too small for my requirements. Do I still have the option to voluntarily terminate the agreement if I’ve paid more than 50% of the vehicle off? Moneybarn have said no due to it being under a court order, but Im inclined to believe they are telling me what suits them, not what may suit me.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
